Catheterization laboratory
The cardiac cath lab is outfitted with cutting-edge imaging technology that allows doctors to examine the arteries and determine how well blood flows to and from the heart. This provides doctors and nurses with information to assist detect and treat artery blockages and other disorders, typically without requiring patients to undergo surgery.
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) at Sallaum Medical Center (SMC) is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a team of board-certified interventional cardiologists, nursing staff and radiology technicians with specialized training in a wide range of invasive diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
